Enjoy the beauty of Deer Valley Resort with a guided hike of the area. These hikes last three to four hours, cover moderately strenuous terrain, are typically less than six miles long and highlight the area’s mining history. Participants meet near the base of the Sterling Express chairlift, located mid-mountain at Silver Lake Lodge. Hikes depart at 8:30 a.m. Reservations are required and a $10 fee applies. Please call 435-645-6648 to make a reservation.
Group size is limited to 40 participants. Participants should be in good shape, wear sturdy footwear, bring proper sun protection and carry plenty of water and snacks. For the safety of others who share the mountain, no dogs please.
Join us on opening day and enjoy mountain biking, hiking and scenic chairlift rides. Royal Street Café and Silver Lake Snack Shack also open today.
Morgan Snow and John Davis of Triggers & Slips have been busy in the past year. They recorded and released their sophomore album titled Buffalo vs. Train in April of 2015, which was recorded mostly live, with co-producer Kate MacLeod and Michelle Moonshine. The album has received raving reviews from local papers City Weekly and SLUG Magazine. Triggers & Slips recently played to a sold out crowd of 300 loyal fans at The State Room for their CD Release Show, and also released their first music video. As impressive as these accolades are, their true strength is connecting with their live audiences. Whether it's a local or national music festival, venue, or stage, their true strength is playing in living rooms and around camp fires. Just ask those who can bare witness to their magical might of late night intimate performances. Their music might make you dance, smile, or cry, but it will always hit you in the heart, because that is where it comes from.
"Stories are all around us, and I’m listening to people even when they think I'm not," states Sammy Brue. "If I get to the emotion of it, I can find the words.”
Realism and storytelling are qualities that are prominent on I Am Nice, the 15-year-old Utah singer-songwriter's New West debut. The 12-song album—produced by Ben Tanner of Alabama Shakes and John Paul White of the Civil Wars—shows the young troubadour to be a timeless talent whose catchy compositions embody the sort of wisdom, empathy and insight that's usually associated with more experienced songwriters.
