Deer Valley Resort's operation is broken down into eight divisions. Within each division, we offer a variety of jobs, both seasonal and year round. To see what positions we are currently filling, please click on “View Current Listings”

Finance and Information Technology

Accounting - Service and reporting department providing financial information about the company to operational managers as well as the company partners. In addition, ultimately responsible for all money received and paid by the Company.

I.T. - Responsible for installation and service of Deer Valley's phone and computer networks as well as Deer Valley's Intranet Web site.

Food And Beverage

Kitchens - Our kitchens strive to uphold a quality and consistent product each time a dish is presented to our guests. Our chefs are proud to use high quality, fresh ingredients in all of our food preparations.

Bakery - Deer Valley's Bakery provides freshly baked breads, cakes, muffins, pastries, desserts, cookies and ice creams to all of our on-mountain locations on a daily basis.

Banquets - In addition to Deer Valley's daily restaurant operation, the Snow Park, Silver Lake and Empire Lodges offer banquet and conference facilities. Special menus have been created for banquets ranging from elegant weddings to western-style barbecues.

Day Restaurants – During the day breakfast and lunch are served at our three day lodges, Snow Park, Silver Lake, and Empire Canyon Lodges.

Deer Valley Gourmet Market – Selling Deer Valley’s own products including, marinades, dressings, cookie mixes and Deer Valley Turkey Chili mix. These products, made right in our kitchen are great gifts for our guests to take home for friends, family and associates.

Evening Restaurants

The Mariposa - Open Tuesday through Sunday from 5:45-9 p.m. during the ski season. One of the finest restaurants in the state, found in a setting at 8,200 feet above sea level. Features classic and current cuisine with an a la carte menu. Rated top American restaurant by Zagats Restaurant Guide.

Fireside Dining – At Empire Canyon Lodge every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm. Features four courses served from our stone fireplaces.

Royal Street Café – Located at Deer Valley's mid-mountain Silver Lake Lodge, this restaurant features Deer Valley's award-winning cuisine in a contemporary lodge setting. Open daily for lunch, dinner and après ski with sit-down service from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Seafood Buffet - Serving a vast array of fresh seafood, including chilled shellfish, hot seafood appetizers and entrees, grilled fowl, pastas and prime rib, plus fabulous desserts.

Lodge Attendants - Ensure the cleanliness of all public and employee facilities at Snow Park, Silver Lake and Empire Canyon Lodges. Responsible for set-up and clean-up for banquets and meetings. Removes the highest cobweb and the smallest crumb from morning ‘til night.

Snow Park Lounge - The après ski lounge offers guests indoor or outdoor deck seating, serves mixed drinks, wine, draft and bottled beer and hors d'oeuvres and features a big-screen TV for sporting events. Live music on the weekends.

Purchasing & Storeroom - Procures all office and administrative supplies as well as food and beverage items.

Stewards - Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchens and other areas in the back of the house. The Stewards wash the china, silver, glassware and other operating equipment, ensuring a clean supply of those items at all times.

Equipment Issue - With an office located at the Snow Park, Silver Lake and Empire Canyon Lodges, this department distributes and inventories employee uniforms as well as linens for our restaurants. Equipment issue also handles name tag production and locker distribution.

Human Resources/Personnel - Handles the recruitment and selection processes for new employees. In addition, this department handles benefit administration, the company payroll and your direct line to "what's happening," the Ear of the Deer employee newsletter. Contributions to the newsletter are welcome from all employees.

Marketing is responsible for conveying the "Deer Valley message" to the public through a variety of methods. Handles public relations, special events. tour and travel and international marketing in addition to the Web site, ad campaigns, brochure production and distribution, trail maps and other literature.

Deer Valley Etc. - A sundries store and Internet café serving an array of specialty coffee drinks and treats. Located in Snow Park Lodge.

Signatures Stores - Three Deer Valley logo merchandise stores are open daily throughout the winter. Stores are located on the first level of the Snow Park Lodge, the plaza level of the Silver Lake Lodge and on lower Main Street in historic old town. A wide range of specialty gift items bearing the Deer Valley logo, including clothing, hats, ski accessories and dinnerware are available along with Resort gift certificates.

Building Maintenance - Maintains and repairs the Resort's buildings and handles the in-house electrical, heating, refrigeration, plumbing and carpentry needs.

Guest Services - Controls three primary areas: the loading zone, parking lot and ski corrals. Directing and monitoring traffic, assisting guests with their ski equipment as well as maintaining cleanliness and safety are just portions of the duties of this diversified crew. This department also staffs the Information Desks.

Lift Maintenance - Assures the safe operation of our chairlifts. Not only does this group come to the rescue during a lift breakdown during the season, they perform load tests, paint the lifts and keep them in top condition year round.

Lift Operations - Responsible for the safe, efficient and smooth operation of our Gondola and 22 chairlifts. They help our skiers on and off the lift, check tickets and provide snow maintenance around lower and upper lift terminals.

Mountain Hosts - Hosts offer three daily mountain tours and are positioned around the resort to offer assistance and information to guests, always with a smile. They also assist with special functions for Sales and Marketing and speed control for the Ski Patrol.

Race and Freestyle Operations - The Race Crew works with the future 'Stein Eriksen's' of the world as they compete on Deer Valley's NASTAR course, open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This group coordinates races for private and groups as well as special events.

Ski Patrol - Responsible for skier safety on the mountain. They provide medical attention when needed, promote safe and responsible skiing habits, ensure ski runs are as safe as possible and monitor and control avalanche problem areas.

Slope Grooming - More commonly known as "cat" drivers, this crew maintains and creates the smooth runs and corduroy surfaces for which Deer Valley is famous. Working during the evening hours, the drivers are a competent and skilled group who take a great deal of pride in our grooming operation.

Snowmaking - Provides Deer Valley's snow insurance policy by aiding Mother Nature in covering our slopes with a blanket of snow. When not making snow, this group operates our heavy snow removal equipment. So, if they aren’t making snow, they’re taking it away.

Fleet Maintenance & Maintenance Purchasing - Services and maintains Deer Valley's fleet of gas and diesel vehicles. Unlike a standard repair shop, this group may be called upon to work in the snow or among the trees and the wildlife to keep our fleet running. The purchasing and inventory of the parts supply also takes place at the Shop. The expediter and the warehouse worker work out of the Shop, making deliveries to the various Deer Valley locations.

Central Reservations - This service department offers guests the ultimate in booking ease. With just one phone call, our guests can arrange all the details of their vacation, including accommodations, lift tickets, airline ticketing, ground transportation reservations and travel insurance.

Sales Executive - Group and individual sales conducted by Sales Executives who travel the country selling the Deer Valley Resort product to meeting planners to entice them to bring their groups to Deer Valley for skiing, meetings and banquets.

Children's Center - The Children's Center is a state-licensed facility, providing quality care for guests’ and employees’ children ranging in age from two months to twelve years. Well-trained teachers organize games, art projects, lunches and rest times for our young guests.

Rental Shop - Offers a variety of skis, boots and poles for our guests to rent. Enthusiast, Performance and Junior packages are available to skiers of any ability. The Rental Shop staff also operates the Basket Check and coin lockers adjacent to the Rental Shop.

Ski School - Offers a variety of lessons ranging from traditional group and private instruction to state-of-the-art clinics and workshops. Each year both apprentice and experienced instructors are hired and well trained to teach all age groups and abilities.

Skier Services Sales and Reservations – This team of professional agents book and process ski lessons, ski rentals, Children's Center activities and lift tickets. Staying calm under pressure is a must.

Ticket Office - Lift ticket offices at Snow Park Lodge, Silver Lake Lodge and Deer Crest offer a variety of single-day and multi-day ticket options. The two levels of the Snow Park Ticket Office handle season passes, locals coupon books, seasonal lockers, prearranged groups, vouchers and complimentary tickets.
