International Applicants
H2-B Extension Applicants
At this time Deer Valley Resort is only accepting applications from international applicants who are currently working in the United States. If you would like to extend your visa and spend the upcoming 2008-2009 winter season with us please apply online, and we will get in touch with you.Deer Valley’s H-2B visa program
Deer Valley Resort is a sponsor for non-immigrant H-2B work visas for our winter season. These visas allow non-citizens to work in entry level positions for a specified amount of time. H-2B visas are subject to three approval processes, 1) approval of the Utah Department of Labor, 2) approval of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and 3) the United States consulates/embassies in each country. H-2B visas have specific requirements that you should understand:
- H-2B visas are job specific which means that once you have been hired into a specific job, you cannot change
- Due to the fact the Deer Valley Resort sponsors your visa, you may only work for Deer Valley Resort.
- Deer Valley Resort’s H-2B visas are specifically for our winter season. Visa start/end dates may vary somewhat.
If you are currently in the United States with an H-2B and you want to extend your visa, please understand that such extensions still require a labor certification from the Department of Labor and an approval from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Additionally, Deer Valley Resort will not apply to extend a visa if the maximum stay has been exceeded. An H-2B visa holder can only be in the United States for 3 years (6 consecutive seasons.) They will not be granted another H-2B status until they have resided outside of the United States for an uninterrupted time of 6 months.
Deer Valley Resort’s J1 program
If you are an independent J1 applicant, please understand that we do not offer positions to independent J1 applicants prior to our season opening. Deer Valley Resort will be in South America this summer with the company Universal Student Exchange to conduct interviews for winter positions.
The J1 visa is a visa that is only available to current students which allows them to work during their summer break (southern hemisphere students).
Prior to our season opening, we do not accept applications for independent J1 applicants. We hire J1 employees through independent companies, Universal Student Exchange, a company based in South America. The students at these job fairs are participating in the “secure,” “sate,” or “placement” option with Universal Student Exchange and are thus eligible for positions at Deer Valley Resort. These applicants will have an in-person interview while we are recruiting in country (Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil) during July. However, if in December you are in Park City and your are in need of a job, please consider coming to Deer Valley Resort Human Resources for an in-person interview.
