Employee Classifications
Deer Valley Resort classifies employees by hours worked and periods of hire. The classifications listed below are used for the application of some benefits and policies. (Deer Valley is a seven day a week operation and work schedules for all positions may fluctuate due to seasonal business demands such as holidays and spring break periods.)
Full-time: Employees whose positions require them to work 30 hours or more per week and may be either hourly or salaried depending upon the job position.
Part-time: Employees whose positions generally require them to work less than 30 hours per week, but who are scheduled to work at least six shifts per month in a season.
Seasonal: Employees whose positions will last only for an estimated period, coinciding with winter or summer operations.
Staff and Year Round: Employees whose positions have been designated as full-time throughout the year with or without predetermined periods of lay-offs based upon needs and functions of the company.
Deer Valley prides itself in the practice of promoting from within. Full-time, year-round or staff positions are posted in-house and filled with employees already working for the company whenever possible.
