DEER VALLEY RESORT’S ROYAL STREET CAFÉ WINS ‘BEST LUNCH IN PARK CITY’ AT SALT LAKE MAGAZINE DINING AWARDS
DEER VALLEY, PARK CITY, UTAH (February 25, 2010) – Deer Valley Resort’s Royal Street Café was named “Best Lunch in Park City” at the 12th annual Salt Lake Magazine Dining Awards held on February 23. Executive and Dining Editor Mary Brown Malouf and her panel of judges awarded the prize to Deer Valley Resort’s Director of Food and Beverage, Julie Wilson.
“We are thrilled to have Royal Street Café receive this award,” says Wilson. “The restaurant community in Utah is vital, original and diverse. We have so much to be proud of in this state. For Royal Street Café to be chosen from all of the excellent local restaurant locally is truly an honor.”
Royal Street Café’s cosmopolitan but relaxed interiors, its sweeping outdoor deck and its innovative cuisine, ranging from comfort food to gourmet works of art, has made it a favorite for locals and visitors for years. Located mid-mountain at Deer Valley in Silver Lake Lodge, Royal Street Café is open during ski season daily from 11:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. for lunch and dinner. In winter, guests ski or drive to Royal Street Café, and skiers enjoy the convenience of having a reservation, and knowing they’ll have a table waiting during the busy lunch hours. During the summer, Royal Street Café is open for lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. mid-June through Labor Day. Guests either drive or ride the Silver Lake Express chairlift to Royal Street, which has become a much enjoyed and unique activity for visiting guests, or even local businesspeople looking for a little fresh air and break from the work day. Royal Street Café’s deck overlooks the Silver Lake area mountain biking operation at Deer Valley, so biking guests love to stop in after a ride for a relaxed lunch and libations.
Royal Street’s menu is a desirable blend of comfort food (like the chipotle BBQ burger, a choice of angus beef, turkey or garden burger with guacamole, pepper jack cheese, maple bacon, sautéed onions, chipotle mayonnaise and barbeque sauce, served with Royal Street Café’s famous garlic-herb-parmesan shoestring fries) to delicate gourmet items such as the Roasted Duck Spring Rolls napa slaw, glazed cashews, coriander leaves and coconut~curry mustard sauce. Other delectable items include oven roasted chicken, steak frites, a house-smoked pulled pork sandwich, an Alaskan king crab tower, the crawfish bisque, turkey chili, salads and more. Daily specials always include a gourmet panini and other treats, and some of the favorite desserts include the warm homemade brownie in a bowl with malt ice cream and caramel crisps or frozen McHenry’s lemon meringue pie. Royal Street Café is also famous for its signature libations, from the blueberry mojito to the Holly Berry Martini.
