ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2010,
TO KICK OFF HALLOWEEN SEASON
“Transylvania Tea Party”
DEER VALLEY, PARK CITY, UTAH (October 20, 2010) –Deer Valley Resort staff will host the “Transylvania Tea Party” blood drive, a Halloween season tradition, on Friday, October 29, 2010. The Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive was started seven years ago by Deer Valley empolyees who wanted to help local health care facilities augment their blood supplies. Members of the public are also warmly welcomed to donate blood at Deer Valley on Friday, October 29, 2010.
“This event has become a Halloween season tradition for our staff,” explains Kim Mayhew, Resort director of human resources. “Many employees find it fun to get dressed up and get together for a common goal and to support a worthy cause. With busy work and home obligations, our staff members look forward to the opportunity to contribute during the work day. Last year we had over 100 donors participate and many were our friends and neighbors from around the community. We truly appreciate the community’s support of this event.”
Deer Valley’s Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive will take place Friday, October 29 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Snow Park Lodge. Current Deer Valley staff is being encouraged to participate in full force, and the Blood Drive is open to any community members who wish to donate blood. Walk-ins are accepted, but community donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 435-645-6654. Light refreshments will be provided.
Donors must come to the Blood Drive with a photo ID, be 18 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds. To find out if you are eligible to give blood, please consult the ARUP Blood Services website. ARUP Blood Services, a division of ARUP Laboratories which is an enterprise of the University of Utah and the Department of Pathology, will be conducting the drive and is proud to be the sole blood provider to University of Utah Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, Primary Children's Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children.
