Deer Valley Celebrates New East Village Express Gondola
DEER VALLEY RESORT; PARK CITY, UTAH (Jan. 28, 2026) – Deer Valley Resort invites local media to attend and cover the official ribbon cutting of the East Village Express Gondola, a major milestone in the resort’s multi-year Expanded Excellence initiative.
Media are encouraged to attend for photo and video opportunities, remarks from resort and industry leadership, scenic gondola rides, and one-on-one interview availability with key project partners and executives.
The celebration will take place Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the base of the East Village Express Gondola in the new Deer Valley East Village.
Details:
- Location: Base of East Village Express Gondola, Deer Valley East Village
- Parking: Free parking in the skier parking lots, please allow for 10 minutes travel time (via shuttle) from the parking lots to the base of the gondola.
Timing:
- 8:30 a.m.: Ribbon cutting & remarks
- Immediately following: Scenic gondola rides, photo ops, interviews
- 9:45 to 11 a.m.: Patio celebration and b-roll opportunities
What to Expect:

- Scenic rides aboard the new 10-passenger gondola
- Wide-angle mountain visuals and East Village base area shots
- One-on-one interview opportunities (available upon request)
Spanning nearly three miles and transporting guests from the new East Village to Park Peak in approximately 15 minutes, the East Village Express Gondola is one of the largest gondola systems in the United States. Cabins arrive every 12 seconds and feature individual heated seats and floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a visually striking experience for skiers.
The gondola is a cornerstone of Deer Valley’s Expanded Excellence initiative—the largest ski resort expansion currently underway in North America—which will ultimately more than double the resort’s skiable terrain and introduce nearly 100 new runs and 10 new lifts this year.

THE DEER VALLEY DIFFERENCE
Deer Valley Resort, located in Park City, Utah, set the standard for luxury in skiing by offering the service and hospitality of a five-star hotel. The ski-only resort is now delivering the largest expansion in ski resort history for the 2025/26 season. This winter, Deer Valley unveils seven new chairlifts, including the East Village Express—a 10-passenger gondola connecting the new Deer Valley East Village to Park Peak. Since December 2024, Deer Valley has added 10 new lifts, doubling its skiable terrain and redefining the mountain experience. This transformation is part of Expanded Excellence, a resort-wide initiative that includes a new portal at Deer Valley East Village with 1,200 day-skier parking spaces, the reimagining of Snow Park base area, and enhancements to on-mountain infrastructure. The resort now features 31 chairlifts, 4,300 skiable acres, seven bowls, and benefits from 300 inches of average annual snowfall. Deer Valley limits daily lift ticket sales and is renowned for its award-winning ski school, elegant day lodges, exceptional dining, and a wide range of luxury accommodations. In 2026, the resort named GMC as the official vehicle of Deer Valley and introduced a new fleet of GMC vehicles for resort transportation and guest experiences. Deer Valley has been named the United States’ Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for 13 consecutive years.
