Deer Valley Opens The 25/26 Ski Season This Saturday, December 6, 2025
DEER VALLEY RESORT; PARK CITY, UTAH (December 3, 2025) – Deer Valley Resort announced today that its 2025/26 winter season will officially begin this Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9 a.m.
A special appreciation ski day for Deer Valley Season Pass holders will be held on Friday, December 5 starting at 9 a.m.
Sustained cold temperatures throughout the weekend, paired with a productive early-week storm cycle, allowed the resort’s mountain operations, snowmaking, and grooming teams to make significant progress across priority terrain. This momentum positions the resort to provide guests with the high-quality early-season experience for which Deer Valley is known.
“This year’s opening carries special meaning as we celebrate our 45th winter season and continue advancing one of the most historic periods of growth in Deer Valley’s history,” said Todd Bennett, President & COO of Deer Valley. “Our teams have worked around the clock to prepare the mountain, and their dedication ensures we are ready to welcome guests back with the exceptional experience they expect from Deer Valley.”
Planned Terrain & Chairlift Opening:
Ski Runs: Birdseye, Silver Link, Success
Chairlifts: Carpenter Express, Sterling Express, Homestake Express
All resort access for Opening Weekend will be from Snow Park Lodge. Deer Valley East Village is scheduled to open later in December as snowmaking and terrain preparation allow.
The 2025/26 season marks a milestone year as Deer Valley continues its multi-year expansion, representing the most significant terrain growth in the resort’s 45-year history. Additional terrain and lift openings will be communicated throughout December as conditions allow.
Guests can access real-time operating information, lift and terrain status, grooming reports, and other updates through the Daily Mountain Report.

This winter, Deer Valley unveils seven new chairlifts, including a 10-passenger gondola, and more than 80 new ski runs. This transformation is part of "Expanded Excellence", a resort-wide initiative that includes a new portal at Deer Valley East Village with 1,200 day-skier parking spaces, the reimagining of Snow Park base area, and enhancements to on-mountain infrastructure.Deer Valley now boasts 31 chairlifts, over 200 ski runs, seven bowls, 300 inches of annual snowfall, and 4,300 skiable acres. The resort also limits daily lift ticket sales and is known for its award-winning ski school, elegant day lodges, exceptional dining, and a wide range of luxury accommodations. Deer Valley has been named the United States’ Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for 13 consecutive years.
