Deer Valley Welcomes Community to Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight Helicopter Event

DEER VALLEY RESORT; PARK CITY, UTAH (July 11, 2025) – Deer Valley invites the public to celebrate the next milestone of the resort’s major terrain expansion at Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight. From Deer Valley’s Scenic Overlook Trail on the top of Bald Mountain, guests will witness an impressive endeavor of helicopters flying in lift towers for the new East Village Express Gondola and Pinyon Express chairlift on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

“The installation of these new lift towers is part of Deer Valley’s efforts to deliver the largest ski resort expansion in history for the 2025/26 ski season, and we encourage the community to be part of this momentous day,” said Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett. “Guests can also enjoy scenic chairlift rides, food trucks, and live music on the Silver Lake Lawn to enjoy a memorable summer day at Deer Valley and an eager glimpse of what’s to come.”

These latest advancements are the next steps in Deer Valley’s Expanded Excellence initiative, which encompasses more than doubling the resort’s skiable terrain, upgrading key infrastructure, and reimagining Snow Park. Deer Valley Resort is on track to deliver the largest ski resort expansion in history for the 2025/26 ski season. This winter marks a major milestone with the debut of seven new chairlifts, including the East Village Express—a 10-passenger gondola seamlessly connecting the new East Village to Park Peak. Since December 2024, Deer Valley has added 10 new lifts, doubling its skiable terrain, dramatically increasing access and reshaping the mountain experience. The resort now features 31 total lifts and 4,300 skiable acres, supported by a new state-of-the-art automated snowmaking system. The Deer Valley East Village will also offer 1,200 day skier parking spaces this ski season, creating a seamless, more convenient guest experience.

The Expanded Excellence: Future in Flight event will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, giving spectators intimate access to watch helicopters fly in lift towers for the new East Village Express Gondola and Pinyon Express, a 6-pack bubble chairlift from the Scenic Overlook Trail. Scenic chairlift rides will be available from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and guests can receive one free kid's ticket (ages 5-12) with each paying adult. Children 4 and under ride free. Additionally, complimentary parking will be available at Snow Park Lodge.

After taking in the sights, guests can relax on the Silver Lake Lawn and kick back with a cold local brew from one of Deer Valley’s beer trailers and sample mouthwatering eats from Brined & Battered, Stage Side Sweets, and Deer Valley Creamery food trucks. Après bites, lunch, and drinks will also be available at Royal Street Café and The Sticky Wicket (21+). Yard games for all ages and a diverse lineup of live music will round out this unforgettable celebration of summer on the mountain.
