Host Kaylin Richardson, a two-time Olympian and professional skier, delves into a discussion with Vice President of Mountain Operations, Steve Graff, about the ambitious and extensive terrain expansion project at Deer Valley. This project is set to more than double the size of the resort, adding 3,700 acres of skiable terrain and making Deer Valley one of the largest ski resorts in North America. The expansion includes 16 new chairlifts, a new village, enhanced snowmaking systems, and much more, all while maintaining Deer Valley's commitment to exceptional guest service and a ski-only experience.

Deer Valley East Village sits at the base of the new expanded terrain and will feature a state-of-the-art skier services facility that houses everything from ski school to rentals, retail options, and a diverse array of dining establishments. Notably, the additional new gateway offers an alternate arrival option to Deer Valley via U.S. Route 40 with 1,200 new day skier parking spaces and promises to not only elevate the arrival experience but also ease traffic flow within Park City.

In an engaging discussion on the ambitious expansion of Deer Valley, Steve Graff, the Vice President of Mountain Operations with a 30-year tenure at the resort, outlines the transformative project set to more than double its size. This expansion will introduce 3,700 skiable acres, making it one of the largest ski resorts in North America, and include 16 new chairlifts, a new village, and advanced snowmaking systems. Importantly, this growth aims to maintain Deer Valley's high standards of guest service and its ski-only experience.

The most extensive phase of the expansion will see the introduction of 10 lifts and nearly 3,000 acres of terrain, targeted for completion in the 25/26 season. This marks an unprecedented scale of development in the ski industry in decades. The expansion will cater to all skiing levels with a mix of terrain that includes a remarkable 4.7 mile-long beginner trail, the longest in Deer Valley's footprint, signifying a major enhancement to the resort's landscape.

Sustainability and innovation are at the forefront of this expansion, with the latest in lift and snowmaking technologies being employed. The project emphasizes environmental stewardship through energy-efficient snowmaking and a water usage plan that minimizes impact, sourcing water from the Jordanelle Reservoir in a non-consumptive manner.

Graff shares his passion for the mountain and the Deer Valley community, highlighting the importance of maintaining the resort's signature quality and service amidst its growth. The expansion is designed to enhance the uncrowded skiing experience, with a focus on quality over quantity, ensuring Deer Valley remains a premier destination for skiers well into the future. This vision for Deer Valley combines significant growth with a commitment to sustainability, technology, and community, setting a new standard for ski resort development.
