Transportation Policy

Deer Valley’s Summer Adventure Camp uses various modes of transportation for campers and counselors for several off-site activities throughout the summer. Please see below for more information on specific age groups.

  • Sunflowers, Grasshoppers, Little Ramblers, and Ramblers: These children stay on Deer Valley property and may ride on the St. Regis funicular when going on nature walks. They do not use other forms of transportation
  • Little Trekkers and Trekkers: Use Park City Transit to visit the MARC pool, Park City Park, and other locations in the area. We follow all guidelines set by Utah Department of Public Safety and car seats and/or boosters are not used on public transit
  • Explorers and Mountaineers: Use Park City Transit and Deer Valley vans/shuttles to visit Park City Park, Kamas Pool, and other locations for special activities in the area. In addition, a chartered bus from Le Bus is used to transport campers and counselors to field trips every Thursday. Booster seats are provided for children ages 5 through 7. However, booster seats are not used on public transit or any vehicle that only has a lap belt per Utah Department of Public Safety

General procedures for summer chairlift rides are as follows:

Little Trekkers, Trekkers, and Explorers (3-6 years of age):
  • Children 6 years and under cannot ride the chairlift alone and must sit next to a Deer Valley staff member or willing adult
  • Little Trekkers, Trekkers, and Explorers will ride Silver Lake Express seated next to a staff member or willing adult
  • A Deer Valley staff member may ride with a maximum of two Trekkers or Explorers on a quad lift
  • When circumstances allow, we load children on operator’s side of the chair

Mountaineers (7-12 years of age):
